Many people in the world believe their life is just a random combination of circumstances, and that life is something that just happens to you. But, as Christians, we know that God is moving in each of our lives. He isn't sitting idly by. He is the author of your faith story, and sharing your faith story matters.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. -Romans 8:28
What is Your Faith Story?
While God doesn't necessarily cause everything that may happen in our lives, He does work through all of it for His purposes. He can use all the ups and down in our story for good.
Spend some time thinking about your life, both the high and low points. What story is God writing? How has He used the peaks and valleys for your good and His glory?
This is your faith story, and you can use it to give people hope and start a faith conversation with them. Sharing your faith story is a simple and effective way to share God's love with others for few reasons.

Sharing Your Life Story Can Relate to Other People's Circumstances
Perhaps you have gone through severe illness, financial hardship, loss of a loved one, or other trauma. Think about how God walked with you through that situation. How did He guide you? How did His love, joy, and peace help you? Now, consider who may be helped by your story.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
This Bible verse shows that we can comfort others with the comfort we have already received from God. People are going through similar circumstances that God has brought you out of. Those who are hurting need someone who will listen and understand. Because of your life story, there are some hands that you are more equipped to hold.
By reflecting on how God has shaped our life story, we can recognize that God has uniquely equipped us to reach certain people with His love. Pray that your path will intersect with those whom you can share hope and healing.

Sharing Your Faith Story Makes the Gospel Real
Some people may have heard the Gospel before, but they don't see how it is relevant to their own life. They may be asking, "Jesus? So what? What could someone alive 2,000 years ago have to do with my life right now?"
Hearing how God has changed your story, may lead them to consider how God could change theirs. When you share how He has brought hope and peace to your life, it may open their hearts to all God wants to give them. When they learn that God gave significance to your struggles and successes, it may show them that they have a purpose beyond themselves.
By sharing your faith story about how Jesus changed your circumstances, they may come to believe that Jesus would make a real difference in their lives if they put their faith in Him.

No One Can Argue With Your Life Story
It seems like, more and more, people are looking for things to argue about. Disagreements are everywhere. And while people may try to argue over nuances and interpretations, no one can argue with your story. No one can debate with your personal testimony of how your faith in Jesus has made a difference in your life.
That's why your faith story is the most effective way you can share the Gospel of God's love and grace. By sharing your life story, you can relate to others and show how the Gospel is relevant to their circumstances.
We encourage you to spend time in prayer thinking about all the ways God has changed your story. Then, pray that God will lead others to you who need to hear the hope of the Gospel through sharing your faith story.
